Enabling Sports Fund projects
The first cycle of the Enabling Sports Fund closed with 21 community sports projects supported. These projects will enable more than 8,000 persons with disabilities to participate in and experience over 20 sports and fitness activities.
The Enabling Sport Fund is supported by President’s Challenge to grow community-initiated disability sports, support sporting aspirations of persons with disabilities, and promote a more inclusive sporting ecosystem.

Session Schedule | The implementation of our ActivUs inclusive sports initiative will follow a bi-annual cycle, with each run comprising a structured five-month programme. Training sessions will be conducted fortnightly at Lions Befrienders’ Active Ageing Centres, resulting in a total of eight sessions over four months. In the fifth month, the programme will culminate in a one-off sports event that brings together all participants—persons with disabilities, robust seniors, and volunteers—for a day of competition, celebration, and community engagement. To ensure sustainability and participant well-being, the programme will incorporate a rest month in June and December, allowing for reflection, recovery, and planning for the next cycle. The initiative will be held twice a year, with full programme runs scheduled for January to May and July to November. |

Boccia is a Paralympic sport that emphasizes strategy, accuracy, and control. |

Currently, each deaf runner is paired with a buddy who taps their shoulder to signal the start of the race when the SEIKO PS-110 start gun system is triggered. While this method enables participation, it introduces inconsistencies due to the variable response time of the buddy, potentially compromising the fairness of the competition. |
